Your First Visit
What to Expect
Your first visit with us will be to get you established as a new patient. This will include a thorough examination of the following areas:
- Detection of decay
- Evaluation of periodontal (gum) health
- Oral cancer screening
- Bite analysis
- TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint/jaw joint) health
- Necessary radiographs (x-rays)
- Discussion of your concerns related to your oral health, teeth and smile.
We try to schedule your new patient exam and your cleaning on the same day. When you call for your first appointment you will be asked a few questions in order for us to determine what type of appointment should be made in order to provide you with the highest quality care. What to Bring With You
You’ll need to bring the following items to your first appointment.
- Dental Insurance Card
- Previous x-rays
- Optional: Your completed New Patient Forms
If your previous dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office or you can bring them to your appointment with you. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.

Medical Status Information
Please bring a list of medications you are presently taking.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to performing dental procedures, or a condition that requires pre-medication with antibiotics prior to invasive procedures. To learn more about antibiotic pre-medication prior to dental treatment, please refer to the following American Heart Association Guidelines or contact our office to discuss any questions.
